SEWS- Cabind S.p.A supports the “Conflict Mineral policy” against exploitation and environmental degradation
SEWS-Cabind S.p.A. has always supported the fight against the violence, violation of human rights and, last but non least, against environmental degradation caused by the extraction and marketing of certain minerals (gold, tin, tantalum and tungsten, derivatives of cassiterite, columbite-tantalite, and wolframite) from the geographical area defined as the “Conflict Region”, which includes the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and neighboring countries.
In order to comply with the directives of the “Securities and Exchange Commission” (SEC) SEWS- Cabind Spa undertakes to:
- design and manufacture products that do not contain “conflict minerals”;
- not intentionally supply materials and components containing the specified metals from mines and smelters in the “Conflict Region”, which are not certified as “Conflict Free”;
- ensure compliance with these requirements and request its suppliers to perform appropriate assessment processes on their supply chains in order to ensure that the specified metals come only from: mines and smelters outside the “Conflict Region” or mines and smelters that have been certified by an independent third party as “Conflict Free”, if located within the “Conflict Region”.
To achieve this objective SEWS-Cabind S.p.A. uses the official Ipoint portal, dedicated to “conflict minerals”, through the use of the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (prepared by cfsi), promoting the same use to its suppliers.
